Description: Fully restored, electronically and cosmetically, 1953 Zenith Trans-Oceanic Model H500 multi-band shortwave portable radio, Serial Number 2399420. The cabinet date stamp is March 27, 1953. The radio is in very nice condition with tested strong tubes including a good, strong 1L6, and the radio plays robustly across all bands. The chassis has been re-capped, and fully IF/RF aligned for peak performance. A Filt-R-Pak+ was installed to rebuild the power supply and the chassis has been fully re-capped. All controls have been cleaned and lubricated, the AC power cord was replaced, and new dial cords were installed. Nice clean audio with great sensitivity, lots of volume, and plenty of stations. The telescopic antenna is straight, extends fully, locks down, and pops up as it should. Beautiful on display and fun to listen to.
