This workbook provides you with the support you need as you heal from your loss. Author Biography Jill Johnson-Young, LCSW, is a therapist who specializes in grief and loss. He goal is to take those who have lost a loved one from the initial shock through recovery. She spent more than a decade working with patient and families as they prepared for a death and walked them through the grief process. She now does grief work with clients, and through her online program, Jill also trains other clinicians in doing grief work and how to how to work with dying clients. This workbook is part of that. It gives clinicians a tool to use with grieving people who want to move from grief to recovery. Jills goal in her work, no matter what platform, is to make grief the normal, natural part of life that it should be. She wants to move the conversation from stages to states, and from "as long as it takes" to a goal of recovering and taking the memory of the loved one into a changed life that the recovering person designs. Jill holds a BA from the University of California, Riverside, and her Master of Social Work from the University of South Florida. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. Jill is the creator of Your Path Through Grief, which is a year-long, comprehensive grief support program, and the author of the soon to be published books "Dont Grieve like that! How to grieve your way from a rebellious widow" and the childrens book "Someone is sick- how do I say goodbye?" She is also a speaker on the topics of grief, dementia, and correctly diagnosing and treating the issues that adoptive families may face. Jill has been widowed twice, and has walked this walk herself. That gives her a unique window into bereavement, and into the possibilities for growth that loss can provide. It also gives her a sense of freedom in seeing humor, hope, and the need to allow grieving people to set their own pace and make decisions that work for them, on their terms.
