YOUNG AVENGERS #4 (2005) featuring Kang and young Kang/Iron Lad; Lovely VF-

Description: This is the 4th issue of the series which introduced the 'Young Avengers', written by Allan Heinberg and with beautiful art from Jim Cheung, published in 2005. This issue features the 4th appearance of Kate Bishop, she not yet having taken on the codename of Hawkeye. With Kang as the next 'big bad' of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Young Avengers set to be assembled in that, this is an especially interesting issue because the storyline centres on a teenager from the future who has learnt from Kang that he is going to grow up to be the world conqueror himself, and, rejecting his destiny, has fled into the past to join the Young Avengers as Iron Lad. Unfortunately Kang arrives to spoil the fun because he is not about to allow his younger self to choose another path! This is a flat, tight, smooth, sharp-cornered book, with a glossy cover whose rich vibrant colours are unfaded, and its crisp supple snow white pages remain fully secured to their original rust-free staples. There are no major defects to detract from the initial eye-appeal of the striking Kang image cover. While those flaws which can be found, when tilting back and forth beneath a light source, have little if any impact on eye-appeal, they do, however, need to be taken account of in grading. These consist of:..a few small faint spine-stresses or dinks which do not break colour..a faint line about 3 mm parallel to the spine (minor printing defect)..bottom right corner has evidently been bent back, producing a light crease line which does not break colour..just above the latter is a further diagonal crease line of about 3cm, again without colour-break, probably resulting from careless pulling back of the cover to open the book On balance, I feel this book is most consistent with Overstreet grading criteria for VF-/7.5, but there is always some degree of subjectivity in grading, and some sellers may grade higher. You are invited to arrive at your own assessment using these notes and the images provided. This comic will be dispatched backed and bagged, securely packed in a sturdy bookmailer - I do not use card-backed A4 envelopes or bubble-wrap . to see it reaches you in the same condition it leaves me! I use Royal Mail rather than Evri, Yodel, or DHL. I've been collecting comics for over 50 years. In that time I've upgraded much of my collection, resulting in extra copies of many issues. In addition, there are series' I have collected which I don't feel the need to take to the grave!
