Description: One of four standard size, multi-colored, vintage post cards listed of Yellowstone National Park, from the 40s to mid-50s, produced by the H. H. Tammen Co, Denver, Colorado. This card (4402) is of the OBLONG GEYSER OF YELLOWSTONE. The photographer was likely Harry H. Tammen. The photos for these cards were taken much earlier by Mr. H. H. Tammen. In addition to being a skilled photographer, Tammen was the co-owner of the Denver Post newspaper. His thousands of photos were used to document Colorado's history as well as founding the H. H. Tammen Company in Denver, in 1880. Interestingly, Harry was also a sponsor of William "Buffalo Bill Cody's" Wild West shows. Born in 1856, Harry died in 1924, but his companies continued. His post card company began to take-off in the 1910s, mostly using his photographs and prospered beyond his death into the early 50s. All cards are unposted, great corners, excellent shape. No tears, no stains, nice and flat. A plus to any collection. Review the photos. Listing for $5.00 per card. If all four cards are purchased I will negotiate price and provide free shipping.
