Description: XRARE: Antique Glass Photo (Positive) - Sámi (Laplander) Nomad An original antique glass photo, likely for display in a magic lantern, of a Sámi (Laplander) Nomad (may be a woman as there is an earring visible). When obtained, I was told the image is from the 1890s and is of a Nepalese man, but the hand-written label seems to be in Swedish and mentions "Norrland", and lightly populated area in northern Sweden in which the Sámi people can be found.
