This pen features natural, oceanic origin, Grade AAA black Tahitian mother of pearl shell and and oceanic white mother of pearl. Long panels of this precious material were carefully measured, cut, placed, and polished by hand to create a perfectly smooth and seamless round surface. This intensive polishing process shows off the nacre's deep vibrancy and iridescence naturally, with no clear coat or other finish applied. A shimmering array of various colors and hues can be seen shifting on this pen’s body in the light. While some makers produce pens with small pieces of mother of pearl, we at Xezo believe that the difficulty and cost it takes to use Tahitian mother of pearl of this size and quality creates a stunning effect that is well worth all the work it involves.
