Description: This is an exceptionally fine World War II U.S. Combat Medic Badge on the original manufacturer’s card that remains in excellent condition. The badge is of semi-hollow constructed with an integrally cast stretcher and caucuses in the center of the background wreath. The obverse is with an attractive age toned patina and exhibits very crisp and well-defined detail. Although not marked as such, the badge appears to be made of genuine silver. The reverse is complete with functional pin and roller locking catch assemblies. The badge is still mounted on the 2x3 inch cardboard sales card. It remains a fine-looking example as worn by the unarmed combat medics who braved enemy fire to bring aid to the battlefield wounded, often losing their lives in the effort. 8594
