Description: WWII Era US Army Canvas Shelter Quarter, Not Half, Tent w/Metal Buttons - Complete with Folding Pole, Rope & Wooden Stakes - Dated 1942 - Very NICE Condition Up for sale is an Early WWII Era US Army Canvas Shelter Quarter Tent. This made of light weight cotton duck canvas, with Khaki color. The shelter quarter is in Very NICE Condition. A couple minor tears, see photos. No paint splatter. Nice color on both sides, some color fading. There are manufacture markings with a 1942 date. This is the early pattern shelter with the metal buttons. It includes an early folding tent Pole which appears to be dated 1942, Cotton Tent Rope and set of five Wooden Tent Stakes. Very hard to find a complete set like this with the correct vintage stakes, folding pole and rope. There is the name of a soldier stenciled on the shelter, see photos. This is original design, from the WWI era, utilized four Quarters to make one tent. The quarter was merely a rectangular piece of canvas with ONE triangular flap and a row of buttons and button holes along each edge (except the bottom edge). In 1942, this design was changed to add an additional triangular flap, which would make it possible to assemble a tent from two sections rather than four.
