This desirable U.S. fighting knife would make an important addition to any collection. This U.S. fighting knife is marked on the sheath 'DUTCH HARBOR 1943'. The hand-drawn ID card notes that this knife was carried by Dick Goderey, who enlisted on Dec. 7, 1942. Goderey served aboard DD 608 Gansevoort, a U.S. Destroyer. This knife measures 9 1/2" overall. The blade itself measures just over 5 1/8". Roger Ballard's knives and his hand-drawn ID cards are highly coveted among collectors. CONDITION: This WW2 knife was kept sharp. The blade has the expected carbon finish staining. The slit in the female side of the 'silent snap' keeper strap is broken. ***International Customers: Shipping can seem high on certain items, because tracking and insurance (required for higher cost items) is expensive when shipping internationally.
