Description: These badges were given by the War Veterans' Association of Württemberg after the First World War. Medal with the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Württemberg, with guns and swords crossed on either side. "Württemb. Kriegerbund" is inscribed below. Two red, black, and white weighted ribbons hang below.On the back below the pin is the Makers Mark: "W. Mayer & F. Wilhelm Stuttgart".Wilhelm Mayer was one of the founders, along with Franz Wilhelm (1846-1938), of a metalware factory in Stuttgart. He was born in 1840 in Lauffen am Neckar, and studied metalwork and engraving in Stuttgart. In 1865, he founded an art gallery. He died in Stuttgart in 1920. LOT # MEDALS 38 E-0124
