Description: WWI Era AEF US Army M1910 Canvas Dispatch or Map Case w/Shoulder Strap - Khaki Tan Color - Unissued Condition Up for sale is a WWI Era AEF US Army M1910 Canvas Dispatch or Map Case w/Shoulder Strap. The case has the Snap fasteners. It is marked with the ink stamp under the flap. It is Unissued, please see photo's for condition. No rips or tears, no fading of the color. It still has the vinyl acetate film covering on the interior with a fully intact felt fabric cover. It is still pliable, not cracked or broken as you normally find them, see photo. It has the original shoulder strap. See photos. This was used by dispatch runners and field officers to carry maps and operational plans in the field. They normally had heavy usage and commonly are in poor condition. This one has not seen much actual, if any, usage. Only minor storage and handling wear over the past 105+ years.
