Description: WWI ERA SWISS BAYONET WAFFENFABRIK NEUHAUSEN The Seller I'm listing this for is telling me that this Bayonet was made for a Mauser 88 or 89 or 98. In my brief research, I'm finding that it was possibly made for a Schmidt Rubin Rifle and is Swiss. A fellow eBayer told me: " The correct rifle for the bayonet would be a Swiss Model M1896/11 rifle or M1911 rifle [ Schmidt-Rubin design ]." If any other eBay Collectors could give me any further details, I'd appreciate it. Thank you. Measures approximately: 16.5" long OVERALL 11.65" long BLADE 4.75" long HANDLE INCLUDING CROSSGUARD Condition: Lots of darkening on Blade, Crossguard, and Pommel. Very tip of the Blade is chipped. Dings and scratches on Blade. Nicks and scratches on wood Handle. Scabbard in nice condition other than minor darkening by the tip. Bayonet fits very tightly into the Scabbard--you almost have to force it in--and it doesn't completely touch the Crossguard.
