Description: *****I AM NOT AN EXPERT ON THIS BUT DID SOME RESEARCH**MN THRIFT SHOP FIND***Here is a World War 2 Unites States Navy Dress Blue Crackerjack jumper top. I've seen a few of these but this one is different....I don't think it's wool as most were. It feels like a polyester or something smooth. Maybe you experts would know about this type of top. Anyway, it has a sleeve patch which is for a Motor Machinists Mate 1st Class Petty Officer. Also has the "Ruptured Duck" patch signaling the sailor was honorably discharged at the end of the War. Inside there is a chain-stitched name..."R. Rathbun". Nicely done. Not sure who he was but I bet you experts can find out. I can't find any size tags, but there is a fancy tag inside that says..."Millers Tailoring Co. Naval Uniforms, 179 Sands St Brooklyn, N. Y.". This might be why this top is so nicely made with a different material as it was professionally "tailored". It doesn't seem like one of the mass-produced USN ones. Again, I'm just guessing. Measures approx. 22" pit to pit and 24" top to bottom. Good/very good condition for being almost 80 years old! Some wear to the neck collar stripes as shown, a few other minor marks, wear, displays great! ***Due to mailing issues I ship to the lower 48 states only.********WILL SHIP BY USPS GROUND ADVANTAGE*****
