Description: Vintage trench art WW2 USMC steel pot helmet, with crudely painted 2nd Marine Division emblem. It also has “USMC” painted on the front, “OKINAWA GUADACANAL” painted on the right side and “GUAM TINIAN SAIPAN”painted on the rear. It is in good vintage condition, with hole drilled in the top of the helmet . A non functioning stand was added. I have absolutely no provenance, it was purchased at an antique shop. I cannot guarantee it’s authenticity. I have been dealing in antiques for forty years. I seems like the patina is appropriate. My researched indicates the 2nd Marines never fought in Guam. I thought this individual may have traveled through Guam during or after his tour of duty. Interesting piece of trench art and WW2 history / memorabilia. Condition is used.
