Description: Original German WW2 M40 Luftwaffe Helmet with liner and chinstrap. Luftwaffe blue. Outside has what appears to be a field repaint in dark Luftwaffe Blue with rough finish, I cant be exactly sure when, but a very long time ago, long before I got this helmet. Inside was not repainted and has its original SE/HKP factory paint finish. If you know German helmets, you know that the factory finish on SE/HKP helmets was very thin at best, its no surprise this had a repaint. Side marked HKP64 which puts this helmet at late 1940 or 1941.All original beautifully conditioned liner with original drawstring. Replacement chinstrap with makers mark and 1939 date. It has its original liner rivets and washers as well. SD at 60%. I have set a reasonable buy it now price, as the liner alone is worth over $400
