Description: WW2, 1944, USMC, US Marines dress service uniform with jacket, button up trousers and canvas belt, visor hat with EGA, WW2 collar EGA's, 1st Marine Airwing (Cactus Air Force) shoulder patch, Corporal chevrons. Jacket named: NW Hurtt (see more below), trousers named Brick, C.E. (not unusual during the war), hat not named but is labeled MC, Marine Cap. The 1st Marine Aircraft Wing's first deployment was for air cover for the battle on Guadalcanal. I encourage you to search the internet for Nathan William (Bill) Hurtt. Who eventually became a dentist and was then known as Dr. Hurtt. You will easily find his obituary and a picture of Dr. Hurtt. Uniform jacket and trousers are in excellent condition, no mothing and no missing buttons, the visor hat does have some mothing on the cap cover and the leather liner is stiff and brittle. Hat is a size 6 7/8. Jacket measures from top shoulder seam to top shoulder seam = 16", chest = 34", top shoulder seam to bottom of cuff = 25", trousers are 32x33.
