The photo shows British Army trucks carrying smiling soldiers of the Highland Division as they move from Libya into Tunisia, augmenting the Eighth Army's drive against the Axis forces in the southern sector of the Tunisia corridor. The date of the photo is February 17, 1943, and it was transmitted via radiophoto from Cairo to New York. A cylindrical border marker indicating the Libya-Tunisia border can be seen on the right.This image captures a significant moment in the North African Campaign during World War II. The Highland Division was known for its fierce fighting spirit and played a crucial role in numerous battles across Africa and Europe.
