WW 2 Escape Map - Bartholomew series maps D/C double sided

Description: Here I have for sale one of my interesting escape maps from my collection, I believe its quite rare later cut Bartholomew edition printed on Rayon. Please read all information below as it forms the description and tries to give as much detail as possible. · World War II · Later Bartholomew series produced by MI 9 - Rayon Escape and Evasion Map with cut edges. (Earlier silk versions had hemmed edges)· Original World War II later double -Sided Royal Air Force Pilots / SOE etc Escapee Map.· Scales 1:2,000,000 · Map Sheet C – Norther France/Belgium and Map Sheet D – Southern France/Northern Spain.· Approx 20.5” x 17” A nice original World War Two era, Bartholomew series MI 9 later Rayon double sided map with cut edge. One side Marked ‘C’ it is printed onto Rayon in three colours, (Black, Red and Green(faded to yellow in places)). This shows the international borders in green, with red showing main trunk roads and other roads. Black was used for railway lines and rivers etc. It shows the south coast of England for escapees or the routes south to Spain.Other side is marked ‘ D’ it is printed onto Rayon in four colours, (Black, Red and yellow and blue). This shows the international borders in yellow, with red showing mainAll very vital information to escapees, especially the Spanish border sought by many. This map would have been issued to allied pilots and aircrews serving in the Royal Air Force, SOE, escapees etc, throughout the course of the World War Two.
