These gaskets are made in the UK by a company specializing in industrial and sport rubber works Your local shop needs your business. One day I was 36-hours out from a trip on the Grand and my local shop saved me by having a gasket in-stock. If we stop buying from the local shops, they can't save us any more. Why do I sell here cheaper if I want my local shop to survive? Because I know paddlers need gear and many of you don't have a local shop. I also know that often local shops only offer/service brands they carry and are unable to sell paddlers on a budget the things they want on a budget! Since you are not supporting a local shop today, part of your purchase will go the universal good of supporting an organization that supports the paddling community. Thank you! Hey, I'm local to myself, and when you spend with me, I spend in town... trickle-sideways economics? :) If you need necks or other parts, see my other listings, I'm growing the inventory to get everyone back on the water affordably! YOU WILL NEED: Taking iron and/or bonding agent. Heat seal repair tape is best if welding. Due to shipping restrictions, I am not able to offer bonding agents at a good price at this time. Check your local outfitter or good hardware store. MY METHOD: See below - I am only telling you how I do it. I treat the gaskets like roof shingles. The first two replacements, I cut away the free-floating but leave the suit-bonded portion (like de-tabbing) then I attach my replacement directly to what remains of the original gasket. This only works a couple times before you're stacking too thick and/or risking failure as each layer is aging and weaker. If your original gasket is really far gone or you've already tabbed it, then consider going all the way down to the drysuit fabric and starting from scratch (you may need tape and/or patch material - I do have tape in a separate listing) Consult your Drysuit manufacturer for details about the best method of replacement. Practice. If you're not sure, don't do it. Take your suit to a shop or ask your manufacturer about how to arrange for repairs. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR USING THIS WITH YOUR EQUIPMENT. Look, this is just a gasket, do you really think I'll be taking responsibility for thousands of dollars worth of drysuits to make a few bucks? I do make some profit, so it's not quite like a common-adventure here, but really you are buying this because you are willing to take matters into your own hands. I do wish you the best of luck and hope that by offering this, it enables you to make an inexpensive repair quickly and you don't miss a single weekend of winter paddling. I DO suggest you test your repair on a local pond, it would really suck for everyone if you discover a mistake in your repair in the middle of a Class V Cold River Spring-melt run. Got it? Sorry. Gotta do the "It's not my fault if you screw it up" routine. You get it. Thanks.
