Description: We recently found this Wrigley Field "Turn Back the Clock" Lidded Longton Crown Collectible Beer Stein. This stein is a very collectible 1996 Wrigley Field lidded stein and the 2nd in the series called Turnback the Clock Stadium Collection made by Ceramarte for Longton Crown in Brazil. It measures 7 3/4" tall, 5 1/2" wide including handle and 3.5" deep. The stein has a hinged pewter lid and the top of the lid is a small model of Wrigley Field. The handle of the stein is carved with flags of the Nationa League & American League. Cutout on one side of the stein has Great Moments about the stadium such as: 1) Cincinnati's Fred Toney & Chicago's Hippo Vaughn dual on May 2, 1917 for the Major's only double No-Hitter. 2) Babe Ruth calls the "shot" off Charlie Root on October 1 of the 1932 World Series. 3) Gabby Hartnettes Homer in the Gloamin' off the Pirates Mace Brown on Sept 28, 1938 leads the Cubs to the Pennant. 4 ) Mr Cub, Ernie Banks, hits his 500th homerun into the left field bleachers on May 12,1970, 5) Ryne Sandberg takes the untouchable Bruce Sutter deep with the consecutive late-inning home runs on June 23, 1994 as the Cubs beat the Cardinals 12-11 in 11 innings. August 8, 1988 First game started under the lights at Wrigley Field ends as an official rain-out. Wrigley Field capacity was 37,741 as of 1973. The other side has a cutout of the stadium itself and the front of the stein boasts a baseball field cutout on 2 crossed bats with a large baseball with wording Wrigley Field 1914 to Present.
