Other than that, Mint condition. The World at War 1939-1945 2nd Edition, published in 1993, balanced some of the gameplay and added some new ideas but retained the same glossy 24"x36" color map and pieces. The Germans can build SS troops. Rules for half-battleships, representing smaller ship formations, have been included. The Japanese can do Banzai charges. We have rules for paratroopers. And there are more surprises waiting for you inside. World At War starts in 1939 with Germany at war with Poland, France and the UK.Though the game may be considered inspired by Axis & Allies Europe, the rules are slightly more complex and the map much richer in detail (the picture of the map used below doesn't do it justice, as it is in reality very clear).Active countries are France, UK, Poland, USSR and USA (Allies) and Germany, Italy, Rumania, Hungary, Bulgaria and Finland (Axis Powers), with a different setup for 2, 3, 4 or 5 player game. There are special rules for the Fall of Poland, the Fall of France, U.S. entry, Russian entry as well as for Italian and Axis Minors entry, which make the game not as striaghtforward as Axis & Allies Europe, but add a definite touch of reality to gameplay.
