WATCH OUT! 🤨 ~ “There is today, by far, more FAKE Murano glass on the market than there is genuine!” ~ INVEST IN THE REAL THING: All genuine Murano art glass is made ONLY on the small island group of MURANO, in Venice Bay, Italy. The enclave's closely guarded formulas, techniques and traditions date back to the thirteenth century—1292. That, and an unparalleled reputation for artistry, quality and value helps give genuine Murano glass its exclusivity, collectibility and resultant appreciation factor. So, investing in authentic Murano glass enriches your collection, and never looses value. There is widespread abuse of the trademark name “Murano”.Establishing authenticity is usually difficult for the novice. Before 1980, most Murano glass was only usually identified with impermanent paper/foil labels. So the name was easily co-opted by a variety of outside fraudulent glass makers. Post-1980, genuine Murano glass is much more carefully labeled and/or signed. Glass makers with famous Italian names, working in other countries still don't make the authentic 'Murano' glass that carries that genuine value.
