WNEW AM 1130, the 1980s radio poster ("Blessed with America's Best") featuring Stephen Foster artwork of Frank Sinatra. WNEW was founded in 1934 and was known for its popular adult music selection as well as its staff of radio personalities. In 1935, WNEW pioneered the concept of a disc jockey when staff announcer Martin Block needed to fill time between news bulletins, and played records instead of the usual live orchestra. When the station was shut down in 1992, the last two songs played were by Frank Sinatra: Here's That Rainy Day and We'll Meet Again.
