It is suitable for wire or sheet metal, and measures from 0 gauge to 36 gauge. On the reverse side it is calibrated in .001" measurements. The numbers are EMBOSSED in rather than printed on, so they will not wear off. A Very Quality Tool. Be very careful of other gauges that appear to be similar at a cheaper price---many of them have their numbers PRINTED on and/or are calibrated in BRITISH sizes ( S.W.G. ), which does us no good in the U.S, or they are accurate but calibrated for FERROUS metals only (iron, steel, etc.).
