These ball bearings needed to be changed often. The Winters rear used tapered roller bearings that could handle the side loads put on the rear which in turn extended their life tremendously. Over the past 26 years, Winters has continued to create innovative developments to the sprint car rear such as the aluminum axle, internal coupler, caliper mount side bells and their new eight inch quick change, the V8 Pro Sprint, the first major change in sprint car rears in nearly 60 years.
