Description: BISHOP, William Avery. Winged Warfare. London: Hodder & Stoughton. 1918. 8vo. 301pp. First edition. Publisher’s pale orange cloth lettered in black to spine and lower board with motif to upper board. With six plates, all present. A famous account by the Canadian fighter ace who shot down a remarkable 72 German aircraft. A very good copy, the mostly only lightly marked, the spine dulled, the corners and tips gently bumped and rubbed, the binding quite tight with a gentle lean. Rear hinge slightly pulled and nicked but holding. Light marks to textblock edges, some light scattered foxing throughout but often very clean indeed. Uncommon.
