Description: Released for the Wii in 2007, the title is a compilation of nine different minigames. Each of these games is designed to take advantage of the Wii Remote in a different way. Every game on this disc is compatible for up to two players. When playing by yourself, you can attempt to complete challenges in each game and earn medals. You can post your best scores to a leaderboard for your friends to view. "Wii Play" also makes extensive use of your created characters. In many games, you'll play as your Mii, or the character will appear in the background. "Wii Play" is also fully compatible with the Wii U gaming console. In Shooting Range, you'll use your Wii Remote as a pointer. Just point where you want to shoot and pull the trigger underneath the controller. In this video game, you'll shoot at balloons, soda cans, and even UFOs. Eagle-eyed gamers will also notice cameos from other Nintendo video games, such as the ducks from "Duck Hunt." Practice makes perfect as gamers can rack up big scores by shooting targets without missing. Find Mii has you choosing characters from a crowd. The title will give you specific features to look for, and you'll then need to select the proper character. In Pose Mii, you'll be copying the poses shown on the screen by rotating the controller. If you've played Tennis on the "Wii Sports" software, you'll feel right at home with Table Tennis. In this minigame, you'll use the controller's motion sensor to swing the racket at the ball. The strength of the swing and the angle will determine where the ball flies. Laser Hockey plays in a similar fashion. You'll use the controller as a makeshift puck, blocking your goal while attempting to score on your opponent. Fishing and Billiards are two of the more laid-back video games on this Nintendo Wii title. In Fishing, the controller functions as a rod for the player to cast into a lake and reel in as many fish as possible. A marquee at the top of the screen shows which fish give bonus points. In Billiards, you'll be transported to a pool hall for some classic sports action. You use your controller to line up shots and the motion sensor to determine the strength of each shot. Invest enough time into this minigame, and you'll soon find yourself pulling off trick shots like the pros. The final two games are the most action-oriented of them all. In Charge, you need to destroy scarecrows with your rampaging cow. You'll gain the high score by destroying the most scarecrows in the least amount of time. Tanks is the breakout star of this collection of games. It plays like NES games, with players piloting small tanks around a 2-D environment. Your objective is to blow up other vehicles while protecting your own. This collection of games is fun for gamers of all skill levels and ages. If you're looking for a great party game, then "Wii Play" on the Wii will fit the bill.
