Description: Patents for the earliest hand-held units date back to the 1850s. The Acme Co. was among the first to manufacture the planters. The 1902 Sears, Roebuck & Co. catalog advertised the Acme planter for 56 cents. Very Good Condition for being an 124 year old piece. Clear Graphics read "SEGMENT" "Patented Sept 11, 1900" "Manufactured by the POTATO IMPLEMENT CO., Traverse City, Mich. U.S.A." "ACME" within a circle. Measures 34" tall.
