Description: This is an original issue (#59) of Whole Earth Review for the summer of 1988, notable for its article on the rights of robots, while also containing interesting articles on the physical substance of emotions, convergence of far left and far right politics, interactive history, and more, with the usual mix of technology and social/cultural commentary for which the journal was known. Overall, this journal is in fair condition--a great copy for reading but also having some flaws on its covers. As you'll see in my first three photos, the covers have moderate wear, several creases, a one-inch tear along the bottom edge of the front cover, and a torn-off mailing label on the back cover, with some of the top surface layer ripped away where the label had been. The pages are clean, crisp, and strongly-bound, and I found no marking or writing anywhere in the issue.
