Description: Very nice collection-worthy telephone from Western Electric. Red Model 500, Color #53 from March, 1956, soft plastics, mainly date matching. The handle has a number 15 and also what looks like 59 in a circle at the top. Its components are from March, 1956, one of the caps has the same date, the other undated, elements March,1956, ringer & dial March,1956, restraint on the fat red cord dated 1956. The line cord looks to be 25 feet in length, terminating with a 4-prong plug. There is no date on this cord that I can find. Bench tested, and all functions are excellent. No chips or cracks to the plastics - just normal light wear. This phone was removed from a hotel in the late 1960's in Lubbock, Texas, and ended up in the hands of a retired phone installer, where it remained for decades. Then I obtained it about 15 years ago and kept it in a box as well. If you intend to use this phone, you will need to have the plug changed or a 4-prong to RJ-11 connector applied to it. You will never have to apologize for anything about this phone. It's the one to get. Thanks! -Eddie
