Description: This is a vintage straight razor Salamander De-Fi made by Wester & Butz of Merscheid Solingen, Germany. 5/8” square-point blade with a durable yellow plastic tube for storage and handle. With inscriptions and logos “Salamander” on the plastic tube, “Wester’s De-Fi” on one side of the metal shank, and “Wester & Butz, Mercheid, Solingen” on the other side, “Germany” on the metal tang. A straight razor is a razor with a blade that can fold into its handle. Wester & Butz is a renowned maker of professional tools for barbers and hairdressers, founded in 1832 in Solingen, Germany. The "De-Fi" is one of its popular straight razor lines. In excellent shape and condition with some patinas due to age/wear. Dimensions (approximately): 5/8" W Blade, 2 3/4" L Blade, 5 1/4" L from the tip to the end/metal tang, 5 3/4" L folded, 8 7/8" L unfolded. Sold as-is.
