Description: This piece above is a utilitarian tool. It is 5 1/2" long x 2 ½ " wide x 1" thick in the middle. Gray fossiliferous chert material. Workmanship is excellent with large thinning strikes end to end by maker anciently and finer edge flaking to sharpen the tool/knife for use. It would have been a preform for a fine knife or just used as a knife/skinner and hand chopper. It was made close to the cortex of the original rough as you see part still on the piece. Appearance is pleasing and it is a fine specimen.
