Large Vintage Waterford Crystal Master Cutter Footed Scalloped Centerpiece/ Centre Piece Bowl Since 1783, Waterford has produced the world's most celebrated Irish lead crystal, known for its beauty, clarity, and quality. For your consideration today is a gorgeous vintage footed centerpiece bowl or compote. Handcrafted in Ireland, this stunning piece measures 9.75" diameter and 8" in height. It has a scalloped edge, an octagonal tapered profile, and a round base. The bowl’s eight paneled sides feature a traditional cut lattice design with fine strawberry cuts. The Georgian strawberry cut pattern on the centerpiece is considered one of the most difficult patterns for cutters, one left only to the true masters of the craft, which makes these crystal pieces highly collectible. This is a vintage piece produced by a Waterford master cutter in the mid to late 20th century, in a historical design reminiscent of the crystal masterpieces crafted in the 18th and 19th centuries at the original Waterford factory. This stunningly attractive bowl is in very good estate condition with a tiny hard to see nick on rim and a few scuff marks under the foot. We did not note any breaks, or repairs on this item. As is expected with all handmade crystal, this may have small air bubbles inside the glass, though we did not locate any of note. The Gothic Waterford mark is acid-etched on side of base. This vintage centerpiece, one of the finest pieces that Waterford made, is sure to be the crown jewel atop your family's table or mantel, year after year, and a treasured heirloom that you can pass on to future generations!
