These socks heat up really fast, and are very warm without heat. They are also washable, though after the one time I washed them (to sell), some of the copper wire from the socks to the battery was exposed. See photo. However, this has no effect on the functionality of the socks because they are low voltage (much like string lights which have completely exposed wires). They have only been worn three times are in very good condition.
