(The production opened February 24th, 1934 at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre in New York City and closed June 30th, 1934 after 147 performances. Following a summer hiatus, the production returned to the Shubert Theatre on August 20th, 1934 for an additional 168 performances before going on the road.) .....
