Description: A beautiful, classy classic, in excellent overall condition. No crazing (or sign of it), which is what Dorics can sometimes be known for. Standard model, at 131.5mm in length, 12mm diameter at widest point of barrel. The details: Color - really excellent, and completely uniform end-to-end. No disparity whatsoever between cap and barrel. Deep and lustrous, especially in good light. Cap - there is one small, contained crack in the lip, as with many first-generation Dorics, but it's hairline, and it's not a chip - there is no material missing. It's difficult to notice with the naked eye in normal light, unless one has a loupe (it is visible, however, in photo #12, as I was trying to highlight it with bright light). High-point brassing is present on the deco band (see same photo) but even that - somehow - seems to hide in plain sight. The double-checkmark Gold Seal is in perfect condition, and was never punched / perforated. Roller clip is excellent, with scant bits of high-point brassing (hard to see, even WITH a loupe). The "Eversharp" logo on the back is fully legible from top to bottom.., a little lighter towards the top. "Made in USA" imprint perfect. Barrel - Basically perfect. Micro-scratches here and there but that's overstating it. One wee bit of brassing on the lever, yet you'll need that loupe again to see it. Even the sides of the lever are perfect, and the barrel slot has no erosion. Lever movement is unencumbered, it closes fully and without any effort, and the sac fills without issue. Threads perfect; caps with 1.5 turns. Nib / feed - 14k nib that reads "Eversharp", "Gold Seal", "Made in U.S.A." and "Flexible" from top to bottom. And it really does have nice flexibility... see line variation in final photo. Nice tipping, too - see close-ups. Zero degradation or wearing of the nib engravings. Feed is also perfect, with no broken fins, and the "M" imprint (for medium) on its underside is very crisp. The Morocco Pearl color is captivating, and the pen writes very nicely... smooth with good expressiveness. For somebody looking for a first Doric, or for a collector looking either for this color or this particular iteration, it would be a great find.
