Description: 22” multi-strand necklace of Venetian glass seed trade beads. No two beads are exactly alike as is common in trade bead pieces. The necklace was hand made most likely in the 1930s. The clasp is a British colonial coin from India. It is a genuine coin and bears the image of King George V. It is dated 1936. The cord is wrapping in what appears to be black silk thread with a couple of minor fraying issues. SEE PHOTOS. This necklace is a piece of history. It was probably used by Europeans to purchase goods from tribes in Africa.
