Description: FANTASTIC DETAILS ALL OVER THIS THING!!!! This came to me with yellow stains in spots. I worked on those stains, and I soaked this sweater in the sun as well. The stains were still there. As a professional Dyer, I decided it was a blank canvas. Specifically, I ice dye, and that’s what I did here. The sweater itself is absolutely beautiful and that’s why I worked so hard to save it. That said, I think I transformed it into something even prettier than it’s original white. Please read the photo and the label. Hand knit by Marta D. Knitted by hand with two needles. 100% Pima cotton in Uruguay. Pima cotton is my absolute favorite to dye. This is such a heavy bunch of cotton, that, even if I hot water soaked it for the rest of the year, I’m sure there would be some bleeding. You know what I’m talking about… Color transfer. After you dye an item, it is a required step to hot water soak until all of the dye is released from the material. The color that you see on the sweater is color fast, but there is most certainly excess dye within. If I spent the rest of the year, soaking it every day in hot water, there would still be a tint in the basin. That’s not a flaw, that’s just how it is. The label says to dry clean, and from here on out, I would advise it. In particular, so that the agitation of the water would not unravel or fray any of the knitting. Anyway, this is probably from the early 1990s , and is only 19 inches from the back of the neck to the hem, and 19 inches across from armpit to armpit. Take measurements of your favorite sweater or T-shirts to determine if this is the size you can live with. Due to the fact that it was soaked in hot water so many times, and it is cotton and cotton shrinks, it very well could be a small now rather than a medium. You are going to have to go by measurements. When I see this adorable sweater, I picture it with a pair of high waisted wide legged blue jeans. I honestly cannot picture it with anything else. If I wasn’t an old lady, I would be wearing exactly that with a pair of chunky shoes. I think it resurfaced just to be the coolest sweater ever with a pair of the funkiest pants ever.
