Description: Vintage Swift & Anderson Desktop Weather Station Barometer Thermometer Hygrometer. Ship's wheel style gauges. One side has combination humidity hygrometer & thermometer and other side has barometer. The brass base measures 2 1/16" x 8 5/16"; it weighs 1 pound 12 ounces. Classic 1950's era desktop weather instrument. Used fine condition with normal aged patina, I did not check the instruments for accuracy but they all seem to be working - see my detailed photos. Swift & Anderson Inc. was founded by Robert Wesselhoeft Swift in 1926. Today the company is known as Swift Optical. SWIFT & ANDERSONIn 1926 Robert W Swift co-founded a binocular importing company called Swift & Anderson. They also imported weather instruments. In 1959 the name was changed to Swift Instrument Company. They currently are called Swift Optical Instruments and are a supplier of microscopes and other laboratory optics.For many years they were located on Dorchester Ave, Dorchester section Boston MA.
