VTG Schmid Christmas Ornament 1983 1st Edition "Hark The Herald" Berta Hummel

Description: This is a vintage (1983) Schmid Christmas ornament --- the first in the company's series of annual hanging statuettes. In this initial production, Schmid issued "a true reproduction of a statuette designed by Berta Hummel prior to World War II." As noted in the side panel of the box and on the ornament's label itself, the figure is called "Hark the Herald," and it was "produced only in 1983 ... the first in an annual series." As noted earlier, this vintage porcelain statuette is in excellent condition with no chipping or cracking. The Berta Hummel design depicts a little boy singing Christmas carols. Please look carefully at the colors and the boy's eyes, which seem to follow you from all front angles! Nice highly collectible object and an exceptional addition to either your porcelain figurine or your Christmas ornament collections. Measurements: abt. 4.5" tall and 2" wide at the base.
