Description: Vintage POSTAL LIFE Magazine, Special Issue, Typical Postman's Day, circa 1974. Staple-Bound. A clean copy of this 22-page special issue targeted "not to postal employees but to their children, grandchildren and young friends" according to a letter inside the front cover by E.T. Klassen, who served as U.S. Postmaster General 1972 to 1975. The issue is filled with stories targeted to children, plus cut-outs, games, and puzzles. Described as Postal Life Vol. VII, there is no actual publication date that I could find. However, the magazine features images of many U.S. postage stamps issued in the years leading up to publication, including a 10-cent one titled "It All Depends on Zip Code," which came out in 1974. This leads me to speculate that the issue is from the same year. The first few pages, right side, have minor 'grip fray' where prior readers grasped the edge to turn the page. The centerfold pages have detached from the bottom staple (see fourth photo). Some discoloration and wear along binding. All of these flaws are described for transparency, but the issue is straight and clean overall. Stored in non-smoking households only. Photos are of the actual magazine for sale. Sample pages are representative of others in this colorful issue. See all pictures. I am a hobby seller, not a dealer.
