Description: Vintage B&W photo of two U.S. Air Force pilots in the cockpit of a Cessna A-37 Dragonfly light attack and close air support (CAS) aircraft, perhaps at the Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita, KS. During the Vietnam War, A-37s were used in "air commando" missions, including close air support, helicopter escort, forward air control, and night interdiction. The photo is undated but may be from the 1960s. The photo measures approximately 8" by 10". “IIU 5” is stamped on the back of the photo (the significance of this marking is unknown). Estate sale find. The photo appears to be in good to very good used condition with signs of wear and age, such as fading, scratches, scrapes, abrasions, indentations, creases and folds in the corners (especially the upper left corner), wrinkles, spots, stray marks, rub marks, smudges, and wear on the edges and corners (some of the blemishes may be a result of the photo production and/or printing process). There are imprints of paperclips near the upper left corner and near the center right side of the photo (this imprint is also visible on the back of the photo). There is also a slight "roll" to the photo. Please review photos carefully, as they constitute part of the description. Item is offered “as is.” Please contact me if you have any questions or if you would like additional photos. Thank you for your interest in this item.
