George Pottery Company partnered with The Bradford Exchange and artist, Howard Rogers, in 1988 to release a series of collector plates named the 'Golden Anniversary Series' to commemorate the historic film, Gone With The Wind. The series produced 12 plates from 1988 to 1990. This is for the first 10 plates in the series produced in 1988 and 1989. The plates are in order: "Scarlett and Her Suiters", "The Burning of Atlanta", "Scarlett and Ashley After the War", "The Proposal", "Home to Tara", "Strolling in Atlanta", "A Question of Honor", "Scarlett's Resolve", "Frankly My Dear", and "Melanie and Ashley". They have been kept in the original boxes and never displayed. Only opened to verify plate and condition. They each have their original information pamphlet and original Certificate of Authenticity. They measure 8.5" in diameter, have intricate detail, vibrant colors and a gold rim around them. All are in excellent condition. No chips or cracks. Gone with the Wind is a 1939 epic historical romance film adapted from the 1936 novel by Margaret Mitchell. Set in the American South against a backdrop of the American Civil War and the Reconstruction era, the film tells the story of Scarlett O'Hara (Vivien Leigh), the strong-willed daughter of a Georgia plantation owner, following her romantic pursuit of Ashley Wilkes (Leslie Howard), who is married to his cousin, Melanie Hamilton (Olivia de Havilland), and her subsequent marriage to Rhett Butler (Clark Gable). The film was immensely popular when first released and went on to receive ten Academy Awards.
