Description: Large vintage Navajo Belt Buckle, Grizzly Bear with Inlaid Turquoise, Abalone, Mother of pearl, Silver. Very detailed design— stunning! Measures approximately 3” tall, 4” wide. Weighs approximately 106 grams. The number 1158 is stamped on the back. This is a ONE-of-a-KIND vintage belt buckle- I haven’t seen another one like it. Pieces of abalone, turquoise, mother of pearl (on the mountain) and red coral (eye) are inlaid inside the stamped and cut silver with copper or brass edges. Well made and heavy. Fine craftsmanship! There are a couple small round blemishes on the top and bottom of the buckle surface. There’s a blemish or chip on the bear’s neck but it looks like it’s supposed to be there. Another small round blemish on the bear’s body . Please look closely at the pictures. This was already a vintage piece when it was given to me almost 40 years ago. I’ve displayed it in a cabinet with other collectibles. If you have any questions please let me know.
