The brooch is rendered in pewter in a sideways teardrop-shaped design, with a mythical creature in high relief in the center and a border of indented dots. From my research, I have determined that the design is Celtic in nature and represents a fish. A single cabochon adorns the brooch. The cab is amber in color; I am unable to verify if the stone is genuine amber but I expect it is. The back of the brooch is textured and bears the hallmark of the designer, St. Justin, and the word “PEWTER.” Please see photos for the specifics of the design. The brooch measures approximately 3 1/8 inches wide by almost 1 3/8 inches tall. The brooch is in excellent vintage condition.
