Description: Offered is a hard to find covered butter crock or canister. This piece is in the Harvest Pear pattern by Louisville Stoneware and handmade, it is not marked. The pattern features a hand painted orange pear, grape bunch, leaves and vines that run around the body. The lid is flat with a longer shallow handle and is decorated with green and orange bands. It fits, but there is play; i.e. it does shift around some. Condition is used but there are no chips, cracks or repairs. There are some flaws from manufacture, the lid has an area of missed green glaze and the interior bottom does have some rough split clay but it is glazed over.
