Description: This is a vintage over the top beautiful sterling and turquoise cuff bracelet by award winning HOPI artist LEWIS LOMAY (1913-1996). Full last name is Lomayesva. He began his career in jewelry in the 1930's and learned silversmithing at Santa Fe Indian School under renowned artist Ambrose Roanhorse. Lewis then went to work for jeweler Frank Patania in Santa Fe NM for 13 years. His designs were both traditional and Modernist. This bracelet is a perfect example of his modernist style. . His work is highly collectable yet perfect for everyday wear!The slightly domed bracelet measures 2 inches wide at the front , takes a dip to 7/8 inch and ends at 1 3/8 inches.. The three turquoise stones (possibly Blue Gem) are bezel set inside the shadow box effect. The largest stone is 1 1/8 inch by 3/4 inch. The inside measurement is 5 inches plus a 1 1/2 inch gap. Total weight is 70 grams.Just imagine that this world class modernist bracelet was made in dusty Santa Fe, NM by an exceptionally talented Hopi silversmith working completely on his own.Shipping will be fully insured, signature required at my expense.
