Description: I saved this hat from being taken to goodwill on the last day of a yard sale. It certainly would have been destroyed at goodwill it is on its last leg and probably should get to live the rest of its life on a shelf. The man who owned this was a veteran from the gulf war who passed away from cancer in his early 40s a few years ago. He collected hats and this hat along with the rest of his collection had been thrown in a garbage bag and left outside for years till I came along and I saw this hat on the top of the garbage bag I bought all the hats and cleaned them up the best I could I spent over 6 hours cleaning the hats and ended up being able to save about ten out of 30ish of them I didn’t clean or really touch this Harley Davidson hat because it seems so fragile that I’m sure water or scrubbing will be the end of it. I wrote all of this because after spending so much time trying to restore his hats I feel like I got to know him even though I never met him. I know that his hats were important to him and I want to believe that he likes that I am finding them good homes All that being said it is a really cool piece and if you collect Harley paraphernalia this is a unique one that definitely shows its age. Thank you for reading all of this I just thought that it might be kinda cool to know where that hat came from and its provenance so to speak. I don’t ride but if I did I would keep this one for sure.
