Description: Vintage 1963-64 FOSTORIA COIN Ashtray - Trinket 10 Inch - Heavy GORGEOUS CARRIBEAN SHADE OF BLUE - Glass Ashtray This large 10" diameter vintage Fostoria blue glass ashtray is a true find for cross collectors of Americana, Patriotism, brilliant colored glass, Mid-Century Modernism, and numismatology. Made in 1963-64, it features iconic patriotic Americana symbols in the likeness of coins on a raised, shaped pedestal portion in the center. The blue glass on this particular piece is stunning! It is the prettiest blended light to dark shade that it literally almost glows - what I would call a brilliant Caribbean Blue! My photos just don't capture what you see in person. I have carefully inspected and felt all edges and not found anything to report. It appears as a mint condition piece that looks as good as it did 60 years ago. The coins in the center are etched beautifully to show detail, and if you intend to use it more as a decorative piece of glass or trinket or candy dish, and not for smoking, it is nice to know that the cigarette grooves in the perimeter edge are narrow and so well disguised within the scalloped patterning of the rim, that you barely recognize it as an ashtray. Truly a gorgeous top-notch example of this Fostoria glass to add to your collection! Photos really do not do it justice. Shipping: Heavy (weighs 5 lbs., 5 ounces as a stand alone unpackaged piece of glass). It will be carefully wrapped with paper, bubble-wrap, and cardboard before being boxed for shipment.
