Description: VTG Erzgebirge GDR Miniature Carved Figures: Boy Carrying Pig in Front of Him Here’s a cheery piece of collectable Erzgebirge folk art carved at the legendary Emil Helbig Workshop in the German Democratic Republic, many years before the reunification of Germany. A young boy is leaning back to adjust to the weight of the pig he’s carrying in his arms. The piece, about 1.5” in length and height, is in excellent condition, from the boy’s brightly colored clothing to the carving of the pig’s happy look and his tiny curly tail. Whether or not you collect Erzgebirge folk art, this miniature carving would stand out in a shadow box or display case, especially if you combined it with some of the other farm-life scenes or carved animals being sold on this site. The expertic sticker has fallen off the base of this figurine, but you can still make out the words “German Democratic Republic; plus, if you check out this site, you’ll see this boy has a twin piece, Boy Carrying Goose in Front of Him, and the expertic sticker remains attached to his base. FREE SHIPPING via USPS First Class Mail plus insurance. (At this time, delivery only within the continental U.S.) Thank you for checking out our auction! Please check out our other Erzgebirge figures to add to your collection! :)
